Karyavinayaka

Kāryavināyaka is an important Ganesha temple located in Khokana. It’s the protector of Red Matsyendranātha (aka Red Lokesvara), the primary god in that town.

Kāryavināyaka was first consecrated during the epic tale that involved brining Red Matsyendranātha from the mystical city Kāmarūpa Kamesvara of Asām, India. This tale has its own depth and flavor that I personally never get bored of retelling and re-listening to.

The Kāryavinayaka was the place where the siddhas Bandhudatta and King Narendra Dev recited millions of Ganesha mantras before embarking on the journey which later became successful despite the odds. Thus, this Ganesha helps accomplishes tasks. He removes any kind of obstacles with the ferocity of Bhairavas. It’s Ganesha’s charm and magnetism that removes obstacles.
