Golden Temple is one of the oldest Buddhist shrines in the Kathmandu Valley. It was built during the Lichhavi era (450-750 CE).

There are several important shrines in the temple. The primary shrine is that of Sakyamuni Buddha. The temple also houses three Taras and Namasaṇgiti Manjuśrī. In the backyard, there is an important Tantric deity generally known only as Bhairava to local people.

Our rituals performed at the Golden Temple is for overall auspiciousness. But we also arrange for rituals at the Tantric shrine quite often. This has to do with purifying strong obstacles including that coming from ancestral karma.
